Margot Robbie attended the 93rd Academy Awards last night looking a little different as she ditched her usual icy-blonde hair for a softer tousled look featuring a full fringe.

With no red carpet, a stripped-back guest list and a train station venue, the Oscars looked a little different this year.

But what the show lacked in glitz and glamour, the stars surely made up for.

Margot Robbie, whose production company LuckyChap Entertainment produced the Best Picture nominated Promising Young Woman , took the opportunity to show off her new ‘do as she made an appearance on the pink carpet.

In place of her signature icy-blonde, side-part was a softer biscuit-blonde hue, blunt brow-grazing fringe, soft face-framing waves and a low ponytail.

She also wore a floral sleeveless Chanel dress and a glittery black clutch.

Her new look went down well with fans as they flocked to Twitter to comment on it.

One person said: “Margot Robbie’s hair/bangs combo is going to live rent-free in my head for the foreseeable future.”

Whilst another quipped: “Babe wake up Margot Robbie is in the Oscars with bangs.”

Her production company produced Best Picture nominated film

Robbie, who was a presenter at the Golden Globes earlier this year, spoke of how her production company LuckyChap strives to empower female storytellers and her thoughts on Promising Young Woman in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter.

“I was like, ‘I think I’m who people would expect to be cast in this,'” she said.

“But the most delightful thing about Promising Young Woman is that it takes you by surprise, and I just felt like I wouldn’t be that surprising — me doing these kinds of things with people’s perception of who I am and the characters that I’ve played.

“Carey Mulligan, however, is an actress that has this air of prestige around her. She’s in period dramas. Throw her in Promising Young Woman, and people’s minds get blown.”

Robbie wasn’t the only star to showcase a new hair look at the ceremony as Oscar winner Halle Berry, who is known for mixing up her locks, opted for a more daring asymmetrical bob and micro-fringe.
